Galleria Monica de Cardenas
Galleria Moncia De Cardenas opened in Zuoz in 2007 in a typical Engadin house from the 14th Century, restored by architect Hans-Jörg Ruch. In this unique setting, the gallery has presented exhibitions by Swiss artist Markus Reatz, German sculptor Stephan Balkenhol and photographer Thomas Struth.
Monica De Cardenas opened its first gallery in Milan's Corso Como district in 1992. While the area was considered suburban at the time, over the years it has evolved into a new, ever-changing urban center in its own right. With this second location in Zuoz, the gallery has worked towards bringing exhibitions by major Italian artists such as Marisa Merz, Gianni Colombo and Fausto Melotti. Over the years, it has gained a reputation for presenting a clear program oriented towards photography and figurative art, presenting not only emerging European artists but also internationally acclaimed ones.
